Ja Morant wants to see one change in the NBA next season

NBA next season

The NBA launched one of the most popular uniform campaigns in league history in 2014 for the Miami Heat vs. Brooklyn Nets matchup.

Instead of surnames on the back of the jerseys, the players had their iconic nicknames plastered above their numbers.

For example, LeBron James rocked the “King James” jersey, Kevin Garnett “Big Ticket” and Paul Pierce showed the “Truth”.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive fan response to this campaign, the NBA never brought back these nicknamed NBA next season jerseys.

Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant hopes the league changes soon.

“Should the NBA bring back nickname jerseys?” Legion Hoops asked on Twitter.

“Yeah,” Morant replied.

The NBA world has had a little fun with some hypothetical jersey nicknames for the modern league.

It sure would be fun to see some of the league’s young stars rocking these iconic nickname jerseys.

Morant recently referred to himself as “Black Jesus” — a moniker once held by Michael Jordan. Maybe it’s a name that would go on the back of his nickname jersey.

Would you like these uniforms to return?
